Hi! I’m Marysha van Hattem (1997), a Dutch illustrator and tattoo apprentice.
Where it started…
After graduating from AKI ArtEZ in Enschede with a degree in Fine Art Painting, I started exploring new directions alongside my painting practice—first through illustration, and later through tattooing. Something about the intimacy of skin as a canvas, the connection with people, and a new way of exploring art really inspired me.
Helping other Tattoo Artists
While learning the craft and creating my own flash designs, I also wanted to help make the design process easier for other artists. That’s how I started illustrating and selling Procreate Tattoo Brushes—practical tools made by a tattoo artist in training, for anyone who designs tattoos. They’re meant to save time, boost creativity, and give your sketches more rhythm and flow.
These days, you’ll find me somewhere between my sketchbook, my iPad, the tattoo studio—and still, the occasional canvas in my painting atelier.
